December 2009 Ronnie
wishes all of the Budo world, of whatever faith or creed, peace and happiness
for 2010.
2009 was an amazing year with the highs of creating the World Kobukan Federation
and being awarded 9th Dan to the sadness of losing some fine budoka. 2010 is
already looking to be another great year and, in fact, the lead in to another
great decade.
November 2009 It is with huge pride we can report that Sensei Colwell has received a lifetime achievement award for services to Martial Arts. The award, presented at the Clash of Titans event, was in recognition for 50 years of contribution to Martial Arts on a National, International and World level.
August 2009. It is with great sadness we report the death of Professor George Anderson, a contemporary of Ronnie's in his Japan days, Ronnie held George in high esteem as a true gentlemen of Budo. Are prayers and condolences go to his family. ( for a full biography of Professor Anderson click on this link) The World Kobukan Federation is to mark Hanshi Anderson's passing with a annual award. July 2009 Ronnie creates a Facebook account and the the Cyber Martial Arts world goes crazy! He also founds the worldwide group WORLD KOBUKAN FEDERATION. June 2009 Ronnie is honoured by WUKO and Japan with the award of his 9th Dan. There are very very few that hold this rank genuinely. It is a tremendous honour and a reflection of Ronnie's lifelong dedication to the ways of Budo. The two certificates (one from WUKO and one directly from Japan) are being framed but once they are back we will post the photos.
January 2009 Ronnie is appointed as the WUKO British Delegate by President Carlo Henke.
October 2008 Ronnie opens a full time dojo in Liverpool.
September 2008. Ronnie has been awarded his 9th Dan in Ju Jitsu by the International Ju Jitsu Federation.
August 2008. You can't keep a good man down they say and Ronnie is no exception. In the last two months he has appeared on the cover of Martial Arts Illustrated magazine, on one of the Master of the Martial Arts cards in Combat, taught on one of Terry Wingrove's courses and if that wasn't enough filmed so footage to appear on a documentary of Britain's hardest men!
